Courts Asked to Affirm Gay Parenting Rights
Read this and consider what makes a parent. Is it solely a biological connection? Or is a parent one that cares for and nurtures a child? Is a non-biological parent 'second best'? Many courts in the US have agreed to protect the rights of non-biological parents by preserving what are undoubtedly important relationships with the children in question. As more and more families are 'non-traditional' and formed in a variety of ways it would seem that these facts would be a no-brainer. And what's the deal with the Oklahoma Adoption Invalidation Law? What's next?
