To Mr. Chernin, Ms. Wilson, Ms. Shapiro, Ms. Jacobs, Mr. Pierce, Mr. Hallock and Mr. Healy: As one of the 40 million Americans directly affected by adoption, I am outraged that Fox Television would consider airing WHO's YOUR DADDY in January. This programming is offensive on so many levels -- from concept, language to the perpetuation of biases -- that you must not broadcast it. The show reinforces EVERY negative adoption stereotype while denigrating adoption as a legitimate means of family formation. If in fact, your company's diversity mission statement is at all credible when it states: QUOTE - We believe our future rests in our collective ability to embrace change and leverage diversity through our leadership, productions, employment, procurement and continued community support. We believe that diversity is critical to our business strategy, and will improve our competitiveness and prospects for long-term success. - UNQUOTE then your ability to blindly produce and air a program that undermines, ridicules, and marginalizes the millions of families formed by adoption is even more insensitive and demeaning. I will not rest until Fox TV announces that this offensive and thoughtless program is shelved-permanently. I look forward to your response.
